The Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Ljubljana is the largest and oldest higher education and research institution in the field of healthcare in Slovenia. In response to the identified need for interprofessional education, an interfaculty elective course Interprofessional Collaboration in Healthcare Teams (6 ECTS) was designed in 2011. The course is offered to students in nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, radiography, sanitary engineering, midwifery, medicine, psychology, and social work. Over the course of 4 months, students participate in lectures, seminars, and small group work, both in the classroom and online. Using various evaluation tools and data gathering before and after the course, the teaching team assesses the impact and seeks to develop and improve the course each year. We invite anyone interested to contact us, share best practices, or collaborate in the areas of interprofessional education, practice or research. The faculty is founding member of EIPEN in 2012, and also founding member of EIPEN as a formal association in 2015. The EIPEN 2013 Conference was hosted in Ljubljana, with Majda Pahor as chair. The current contact person is Matic Kavcic, who is also member of the Board. 


The School of Health and Social Care at Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) in Finland has 11 Degree Programmes in Finnish and Option of Nursing also in English. Several interprofessional studies are planned and implemented in Oamk. Students in Degree Programme in Nursing and Healthcare including Options of Nursing, Midwifery and Preventive Health Care participate for example Proficiency Evaluation of Nursing Competencies and Patient-Centered Lifestyle Coaching interprofessional course (2 ECTS) with medical students. Also studies like eHealth competences, Care and services for the elderly are offered for medical, nursing, physio- and occupational therapy students. Preventive Health Care students study Health promotion and Health Coaching (7 ECTS) together with interprofessional group of Health science students at University of Oulu. Interprofessional practical trainings together with medical students take place in City of Oulu Health Care Centers (Child Health and Maternity Clinic, Diabetes Clinic etc.) and simulation studio training in emergency situations at Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Degree Programme in Dental Health Care students have interprofessional courses and clinical trainings together at special Teaching health center Dentopolis with dentistry students. Trauma imaging and interprofessional collaboration (3 ECTS) is also offered as interprofessional course in Degree Programme in Radiography and Radiation Therapy etc. The school is founding member of EIPEN in 2012, and also founding member of EIPEN as a formal association in 2015. The EIPEN 2013 Conference was hosted in Oulu, with Tiina-Tervaskanto-Maentausta as chair. The current contact person is Minna Manninen, who is also member of the Board. 


Zuyd University of applied sciences in Heerlen (Netherlands) was founding member of EIPEN in 2012 and collaborated in organizing the EIPEN 2015 conference. The institution is one of the pioneering institutions actively using the EIPEN 5Keys model in their programmes. Contact person is Steffy Stans.


PXL University College is a university of applied sciences, located in the eastern region of Flanders. The department of health care is member of EIPEN since 2014. Contact person is Wouter Grommen.


AQARTO is an autonomous agency for quality assurance assistance, assessment, and auditing. One of the focuses of training and consultancy is teamwork and interprofessional collaboration.  The agency is founding member of EIPEN as a formal association in 2015. HESAV, the Haute Ecole de Santé Vaud, is a university of applied sciences located in the region of Lausanne (Switzerland). In the EIPEN 2017 conference, a team from HESAV won the award for best poster presentation. The institution is member of EIPEN since 2016. Contact person is Veronika Schoeb.


Institut et Haute Ecole de la Santé La Source is a university of applied sciences specialized in health care, located in Lausanne (Switzerland). La Source School of Nursing Sciences, HES-SO University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland, is the world’s first secular nursing school. Today, it still plays an important role in the training of nurses through interprofessional projects. Since 2014, several interprofessional education projects have been included in the Bachelor's degree course in nursing. A 3 ECTS module allows 2nd year nursing and 3rd year medical students to develop their interprofessional skills in simulated clinical practice and different common courses and education for undergraduate nursing and medical students in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Bachelor's thesis can be done with medical students in which students examine a community health issue in a foreign country from the point of view of medicine and nursing. Moreover, undergraduate students from six different health professional fields and from five different institutions can practice interprofessional collaboration in their initial training. La Source also has a Teaching and Research Laboratory whose main focus is on interprofessional education and practice. The institution is member of EIPEN since 2016 and had the pleasure of hosting the EIPEN conference in 2017. Contact person is Valérie Santschi.


Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) has joined EIPEN since 2016. Current contact person is Monique Mensen.


Radboud UMC Health Academy is part of the university medical center located in Nijmegen (Netherlands). The EIPEN 2013 Conference was held in Nijmegen, in collaboration with two other institutions. It was the start of a Dutch network on interprofessional education. The Health Academy is member of EIPEN since 2017. Current contact person is Sharon Giesbers.

 

The Antwerp University Association (also referred to as AUHA) is a structural cooperation of four higher education institutions in Antwerp and was founded in 2003. Member institutions are the University of Antwerp, the AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts Antwerp, the Antwerp Maritime Academy and the KdG University of Applied Sciences and Arts, together with almost 50.000 students. The project Interprofessional collaboration in health care (IPCHC) was organised for the first time in the academic year 2004-2005. This is a project for the students of alle health and welfare education programs within the AUHA. Also programmes of the Thomas Moore University of Applied Sciences and the University of Applied Sciences Zeeland (the Netherlands) were involved. This project is a module of one week. All last year students (about 1000 students/year) of the different departments in health care and related education programmes learn to work together in an interprofessional context. Since 2010, there is also an Interprofessional Education Module for the health professionals in educational practice. The institution is member of EIPEN since 2015 and had the pleasure of hosting the EIPEN conference in 2019. Contact person is Paul Van Royen, who is also vice-chair of EIPEN.


Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) is member of EIPEN since 2018. The contact person is Jos Verweij, who is also vice-chair in the Board. 


Hochschule fur Gesundheid Bochum (Germany) is a university of applied sciences focused on health care. The EIPEN 2023 Conference is organized on the so-called Gesundheitscampus. The institution is member of EIPEN since 2018. The contact person is Marietta Handgraaf.


Maastricht University, Dept. of Family Medicine (Netherlands) is EIPEN member since 2018, The contact person is Loes van Bokhoven.


Hanzehogeschool Groningen (Faculty of Health) is EIPEN member since 2020. The contact person is Freek Bronda.


UCLL University College Louvain-Limburg is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Flanders (Belgium). The faculty of health is member of EIPEN since 2022. Contact person is Frank Delaere.
